I am beyond thrilled to share this hazy June that my poems “Leafhopper,” “Matte Black Nail Polish,” and “Saving Grace” will be published in Please See Me’s summer issue! Please See Me is a lovely online publication that explores mental health issues.
All of these poems are quite close to my heart! (Though what good poem isn’t?). “Leafhopper” is a short and and fun poem about delusions of religious grandeur. Insects, of course, feature largely. :)
“Matte Black Nail Polish” is actually one of a series of poems I made in an odd tiered style. My poem “Time is Like Cherry Soup,” which was published on Sad Girls Club Lit’s website, is similar.
“Saving Grace” is a poem that lived on my phone as a fragment in my notes app for a while. It is beautiful and fulfilling to see it brought to life and prominence! Yes, the title is unfortunately a pun. :/
