Behind the Scenes of AVaVW #5

This weekend, I had the opportunity to accompany my dad on a short two night trip to Dayton, Ohio. Our goals were simple: he was going to play poker, and I was going to get some needed, isolated time in the hotel room to write.

And I did just that! :)

My rewrite of A VILE AND VENOMOUS WOMAN is a little over halfway done. Writing time has been scarce between starting a new, more demanding job, going back to school, and readying the home I’m about to move into to a habitable state. I’m grateful to have the support of my family in helping me get away from it all.

Truthfully, if I had a week with utterly no plans, I could crank the rewrite out. This is the often frustrating thing about starting a writing career—just finding the time outside of your day job! Nevertheless, I am confident I can make my dream of one day doing this full-time my reality. If I don’t have optimism, I don’t have anything.

I’m also going to take this opportunity to share some more lovely character art. This art was done by Irene Cabrejas!

Vivie is Korrie’s childhood best friend. The calculating daughter of the cruel King Hernon, Vivie schemes to free Korrie one day. For now, she’ll have to sustain their friendship with forbidden visits to the bowels of Lacruk castle, deep in the dungeons.
